The new fastest car in the world will be Koenigsegg One:1?

Currently, the fastest car in the world is the Hennessey Venom GT. Previously, the holder of this title was the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, but it has been removed from the Guinness World Records. The Bugatti has been removed, because they’ve found that the original model for achieving that record was modified and it was against the rules. However, the Hennessey Venom GT got a new contender for the title, and it seems that the odds are to the new Koenigsegg One:1.

The new Koenigsegg One:1 soon should be claimed as the fastest car in the world for 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph), 0-300 km/h (0-186 mph) and 0-400 km/h (0-248 mph). It might be even called the fastest car in the world period, because it should reach a top speed of 450 km/h (279 mph).

Currently, all we know that the new Koenigsegg One:1 should accelerate from 0 to 400 km/h (0-248 mph) in about 20 seconds. That is basically twice faster than the Bugatti Veyron can do. No information is available at the moment for 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) and 0-300 km/h (0-186 mph), but that should be revealed in the near future. No information for 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) as well. I am sure that most of you are curious for that information, though.

A Lamborghini Gallardo with 2005 hp recently did 0-400 km/h (0-248 mph) in about 22 seconds. However, even this beast is slower than the new Koenigsegg One:1.

The new Koenigsegg One:1 will produce up to 1400 hp (1029 kW), and it will weigh 1400 kg. That’s one-to-one ratio of weight and horse power. Also, this weight will include the driver’s weight, all water, oil, and fuels. We’re not sure how much they’ve set for the driver’s weight (on an average). It means if a driver will be heavier than by their calculations, this car will weigh more than 1400 kg, or less if a driver will be skinny.

Only 6 units will be made of this Koenigsegg One:1. Also all 6 units already are sold, just their buyers will have to wait until the end of the next year. The very first model should be released by the end of the next year.
