This “regular” looking Volkswagen Golf Mk2 is a second-generation Golf with some serious serious power under its hood. This is not just a regular Golf, it’s a “super” Golf.
The Volkswagen Golf Mk2 under the hood has a 2.0-liter 16V Turbo engine. This engine produces up to 965 hp (710 kW) and up to 951 Nm (702 lbs-ft) of torque. It basically has about 10 times more power than a normal Volkswagen Golf Mk2 has.
The car definitely has some impressive power. However, when you can see how fast this car can accelerate, it gets even more impressive. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in only 2.6 seconds. It also can reach a top speed of over 320 km/h (198+ mph).
When you look at the car, it looks like just a regular street car. By its exterior, it’s just a regular Volkswagen Golf Mk2. But it hides a devil under the hood.
On a public road, this car could embarrass a lot of fast cars if those cars would dare to challenge this “regular” looking Golf.
This Volkswagen Golf Mk2 can easily challenge some of the best supercars in the world in a drag race. Maybe on a race track, this Volkswagen Golf Mk2 can’t challenge those supercars, but in a drag race, it can beat most of them without a problem. Obviously when we speak about beating those supercars, we obviously have in mind base models only. A supercar with a modified engine can make a different story.
